Shrinidhi (Nidhi) Uppangala holds a Master’s degree in Biotechnology and began her career in drug discovery research. Witnessing her aging grandparents as a child first sparked her awareness of caregiving, but it was caring for her terminally ill aunt as an adult that profoundly changed the course of her professional life.
Moved by this insight, she founded a homecare service grounded in empathy, trust, and the unwavering belief that every individual deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. She believes that true care begins with listening, and that small acts of kindness can profoundly impact lives. Today, her organization proudly provides services such as In Home Care, 24 Hour Care, Live In Care, and Overnight Care to support families with dependable, compassionate assistance. Her mission is to redefine how we care for our loved ones, one family at a time.
Beyond her work, Nidhi is a trained Indian classical dancer with a Master’s in the art form, a nature lover who enjoys hiking, and someone who finds peace near water. She and her husband Avinash share a joyful little world with their whirlwind of a 10-year-old daughter and two parakeets who squawk like tiny comedians and rule the roost with flair.
Hi, my name is Mandy and I am a North Carolina native. Originally from Asheville and now living in Sherrills Ford with my husband and children. I am an avid reader and love hiking and spending time with family. I like to spend as much time as possible outside, whether that’s relaxing on the lake or enjoying time in the mountains.
What originally drew me to Assisting Hands was being able to help families who need care for their aging parents. I was a caregiver for my own mother, so I know how important it is for families to make sure their loved ones are taken care of when they can’t be there. I love getting the opportunity to speak with new families each day and match them with the best caregivers.

I bring over 26 years of experience in the dental field, including 19 years as a dental hygienist and 6 years in dental distribution sales, and marketing across North Carolina. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about serving the elderly and improving care for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia.
I have completed extensive training in memory care and have worked directly with long-term care facilities to educate staff on providing compassionate dental care for patients with cognitive decline. My dedication to this work is personal—both my grandmother, and my father lived with dementia, giving me firsthand experience with the challenges families face.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our 13-year-old daughter, and our many adopted pets. Our family weekends are often spent at dirt bike races, volleyball games, thrift shopping, or traveling.
